Brahim Haggiag
Brahim Hadjadj, born January 31, 1934 in Médéa, is an Algerian actor.
He was the brilliant interpreter of the character of Ali La Pointe, an FLN fighter in the heart of the Casbah of Algiers, in the film "The Battle of Algiers" by Gillo Pontecorvo. Other filmmakers called on his qualities, including in 1966: The Battle of Algiers by Gillo Pontecorvo: Ali la Pointe, in 1967: The Stranger by Luchino Visconti: "An Arab", in 1969: "Opium And The Stick" by Ahmed Rachedi, in the role of Omar, in 1971: "Patrouille À l'Est" by Amar Laskri, in 1974: "The Finger in the Gear" by Ahmed Rachedi, in 1975: " Chronicle of the Ember Years" by Mohammed Lakhdar-Hamina, in 1986: "The Roaring Years of the Twist" by Mahmoud Zemmouri, in the role of Si Omar.
He also did a casting in Italy with Luchino Visconti for a film with Marlon Brando, but which unfortunately did not come to fruition. He was also approached by the United States for a role, but his visa application was refused by Algeria.
Living in Cherarba, a suburb of Algiers, he died in 1996.
